US major Indicies closed stronger overnight with the SP500 and Nasdaq grinding out new record closes. Traders managed to shake off negative news from the weekends global cyber security attack to start the session in the green. The energy sector was the mover overnight to carry markets higher along with Technology gaining as traders anticipated that Cyber Security firms would benefit from greater spending after the global ransomware attack. Europe managed to continue its move higher with Londons FTSE100 pushing into new all time highs.
The USD lost ground against a basket of major pairs as the outlook for US interest rates remaining mixed. The Pound was slightly higher on the close after giving up a lot of gains from an early rally in the European session. The EURO made its way higher as did the AUD but both gave up some of the gains from early European trade.
Crude Oil rose to its highest level in over three weeks after Saudi Arabia and Russia said supply cuts needed to last into 2018, a step toward extending an OPEC-led deal to support prices for longer than originally agreed. Gold was higher as the USD continued to grind lower.
The ASX200 is expected to open 15 points higher to continue the rally off support from yesterdays session.
