The Nasdaq closed at a new record high thanks to top tech names Microsoft, Amazon and Nvidia while the Dow and SP500 closed just shy of breakeven for the session. Trading activity was pretty flat throughout the session as the SP500 drifted within a 10 point range. Investors were still cautious about potential delays to tax reform after reports late Monday that Trump disclosed highly classified information to Russia’s foreign minister about a planned Islamic State operation. London was higher after CPI data released showed greater than expected inflationary numbers with traders eyeing unemployment data tonight.

The USD was lower against a basket of major currencies on political volatility as the EURO pushed higher through the 1.1000 level. Eurozone data released showed that the economy grew at 1.7% year on year for the first quarter. The Pound initially followed suit and rallied strong into data released early in the session only to get sold back down.

Oil gave up some ground overnight after a previous rally of 2.1% the night prior and ahead of inventory data out of the US. Gold gained strength on the back of a weaker USD and also as Trumps actions divert the attention away from his economic stimulus program.

The ASX200 is expected to open flat as US gives no clear lead to markets. Technical buyers are still watching for 5820 to hold and price to confirm a higher low through 5870 on the Index.
